All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children

and are trained and registered by Music Together® LLC

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs
engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Nancy Nuttle, Director/Instructor, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. She completed 15 successful years of general music instruction in Montgomery County Public Schools and has sung professionally. Assistant Director for the Maryland Center for the Arts at Goucher College from 1985 through 1998, Nancy is also Administrative Assistant for the Maryland Artist/Teacher Institute.
Trained at the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, by Ken Guilmartin, she is a registered and certified Music Together® Teacher. Nancy is the mother of three children.

Liz Safley Brinker, Instructor, has BA, U. of Oklahoma, was enrolled in Music Together classes with her children from 1997 through 2001 and completed the course's training in summer 2002. She recently completed Music Together certification level 1 training. Liz enjoys choir singing and performing in musicals. She would like to pass her love of music on to others.

Sue Goodwin, Administrative Assistant/Instructor, has a Masters degree in Social Work, worked for eight years in a therapeutic school for emotionally disturbed children and continues to maintain a private practice. She sings, plays the flute and enjoys making music with her 2 children. Sue and her children have taken Music Together classes from Nancy Nuttle for over 5 years.

Ellie Schuchman, Instructor, has a BA in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work, and has worked with children and their families for over 15 years. She enthusiastically took over 3 years of Music Together classes starting when her twin boys were 9 months old. She also teaches music at her sons' former preschool as well as leads musical children's services at her synogogue. She completed her Music Together training in March of 2006 and looks forward to making music with you!

Colleen Reed, instructor, has been enjoying Music Together classes with her son Lincoln since 2006 and completed Music Together® teacher training in March 2008. A flutist for almost 30 years, she teaches flute and performs professionally. Colleen’s performances include folk dances with her band Gypsy Meltdown and she loves to improvise. She has also performed in a fife and drum group, flute choirs and chamber groups. She is excited to make music together with you!

Cheryl

Cheryl Arellano, Instructor, achieved a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from James Madison University in 1996. She began the first 7 years of her 12-year tenure as a band and orchestra director. She then turned her musical interests toward general/choral music, and for the past 5 years has been teaching k-5 general/choral music. She thoroughly enjoys inspiring her students through integrating creative movement, stories, singing, and instrument playing in her classroom musical experiences. She completed her Music Together Teacher Training and apprenticing in summer 2008. Cheryl looks forward to sharing a wonderful musical experience with you!

Lisa Sidel, instructor, has a Master’s in Elementary Education and taught preschool at Moses Brown School in Rhode Island. A mother of four, Lisa led the musical story time at the Cheshire Cat and Politics & Prose bookstores for over eight years, with each of her young toddlers sitting in her lap. After taking classes for many years with Nancy, Lisa is excited to continue making music together with you. She successfully completed her Music Together training in April 2009.

Jennifer DeLapp Birkett, instructor, grew up singing and playing music games on the piano in Rochester, NY. She earned degrees in music history at Wheaton College in Illinois (1987), the Eastman School of Music (M.A. 1992), and the University of Michigan (Ph.D., 1997) where she researched composer Aaron Copland. For many years she was a full-time music professor, most recently at the University of Maryland. She has been active in Irish music, church music, choral music, and composing, and has taught music theory, beginning piano, and music appreciation. She has taken Music Together classes with Linda O’Reilly since just before her preschooler was born. She completed the Music Together teacher training in April 2009.

Christiana Iheadindu, Instructor, has a Master of Music degree from University of Maryland College Park and a Bachelor of Music from Southeastern Louisiana University. She has been teaching piano and general music to children and adults, while actively performing as a concert pianist. Christiana successfully completed the Music Together Teacher Training in June 2009 and looks forward to many more wonderful Music Together experiences.
